Late Kamakura Period early 14th Century
This sword is rather wide and thick with a deep Sori, a medium Kissaki and an engraved Bo-Hi on both sides of the blade. The Jigane is Koitame Hada and Mokume Hada mixed with Jinie attach Backishi Jigane and the Utsuri appear on the Ji. It has a Konie Deki Suguha and soft feeling Nioikuchi Hamon.
The Mihara School was founded in the province of Bingo at the end of the Kamakura era and extended into the late Muromachi period. The blades associated with the Kamakura period are called Ko-Mihara School, like the example here.
This sword first was reported as Enjyu Kunoyasu. On the Sayagaki, which was done by Fukunaga Suiken-sensei, he wrote it as Enjyu Kunoyasu. The NBTHK Shinsa judged it as Ko-Mihara Jyo-Jyo Saku ranking (NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Paper).
